Hyperhidrosis, or excessive sweating is really a very common condition.  You may find yourself sweating when it is rather cool to others.  You may sweat excessively when you are anxious or stressed about work, school or other things.  Some people wake up at night drenched in sweat, and just want it to stop.  No matter when it hits you, it is affecting your life and no matter what you have tried, it doesn't seem to help.  Are there any ways to stop excessive sweating naturally, and if so, how?  Below are some common things people try as a solution to the problem, and farther down the page are some suggestions for naturally controlling your excess sweat problem.

Antiperspirants - Many antiperspirants contain aluminum chloride, an effective ingredient for most people.  However, if you suffer from Hyperhidrosis you may try switching brands, even getting a prescription antiperspirant from your doctor.  Hopefully, it will work.  Unfortunately, for many it does not.  Sweating is a normal function, and antiperspirants work for most people.  However, those who suffer from excessive sweating of the underarms may find that the strongest do not even work in their situation.

Prescription Medications - Some people resort to oral medications to stop excessive sweating, especially if the problem is not really their underarms, but their hands, chest, back or other area where antiperspirants are not applied.  Robinul is a common prescription given for this problem, but like all medicines there are side effects.  Some of the worst with these medications are dry mouth and blurred vision, among others.  Most people prefer not to use these, but they have proven successful for some.
